Need a Little Extra Help?

We have had a few members of our community reach out about beach access options when traveling with their senior family members or disabled family member so we figured we would write a blog post on the options available to those wishing to stay at Seascape (or any unit in Seapointe but of course we are preferential towards our unit ;)). If Covid reminded us of anything, it is to be grateful for the time we have with our family and friends and to build those memories together when you have the opportunity.

Wheelchair Access

The Seapointe beaches are handicap accessible. Each building has at least one beach wheel chair available on a first come, first serve basis to borrow for the day. If you have a family member that needs to borrow it and you are staying at Seapointe, coordinate with the condo owner or with Seapointe Realty to make sure that the wheelchair is available. If it's not available, you can always call security and they will drive you down to the beach if they are not busy.

Beach Boardwalk

Seapointe has done a fabulous job at trying to think of everything to make staying at there feel relaxing including installing beautiful decking all the way out to the end of the beach. This helps make it easier to get out to the water without walking through the sand which can be difficult at times, especially if walking with any type of assistance.

Handicap Transport

The Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol offers a free handicap transportation service from July 1 through Labor Day Weekend. The service is everyday beginning at 11:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. In order to receive a ride from the street end down to the beach, just call our headquarters at 609-522-3825 when you are ready to go! When you are ready to return back to the street, call the number again and a driver will pick you up at your location.

Seapointe Security Team

The Seapointe Security Team is wonderful. They have helped our renters in the past go from our unit down to the water. We had a wonderful family stay with us earlier this year and Uncle Richard at 87 needed a little extra help so the Seapointe Security team assisted and picked him up from the South Beach building and made sure he and his family were safely transported down to the beach.

Wheelchair Rentals

Wildwood Rental Supply offers an array of vacation rental needs including beach wheelchairs. Their beach wheelchairs are designed for smooth sailing on the sand. Each one comes equipped with a seat belt, foot rests, inflatable tires, and the maximum weight it can support is up to 200lbs.

Seapointe also offers elevators in all of their ocean front buildings, handicap pool access and beautiful trek decking throughout the village to help make mobility easier. If you have any specific questions around how we could help accommodate a family member that needs a little extra assistance, please let us know.
